Mobile Boat Repair on Captiva, FL

Captiva sits at the end of everything: past the causeway, past Sanibel, past Blind Pass, where the road runs out and the docks look at Pine Island Sound. It is the hardest place in Southwest Florida to get a boat repaired, which is precisely why we made it a standing stop. Island Marine Repair brings complete mobile boat repair to Captiva, every service, at your dock, with everything the job needs already on the truck.

Serving Captiva

The Brands at the Outer Docks

Captiva's compact fleet carries the coast's familiar badges: Yamaha and Suzuki on the flats and bay boats, Mercury on the family dayboats, Garmin at helms navigating the pass's shifting bars, and Minn Kota, Rhodan and Power-Pole rigging the Sound's fishing bows. The occasional cruiser adds Volvo Penta or Yanmar to the rotation. Every badge carries factory diagnostic coverage on the truck, and every one has a dedicated page on the site.

The Far Dock Rule: Arrive Complete, Finish Complete

Serving Captiva well demands a discipline mainland service never learns. There is no parts store around the corner, no quick return trip that does not cost half a day, and no tolerance for "we'll come back Thursday." So Captiva runs operate on the far dock rule: every visit is planned by phone first, the symptom described, the boat's details gathered, and the truck packed for the job plus its likely neighbors. Diagnostic computers, the probable parts, the backup parts and the tools to handle what the diagnosis actually reveals rather than what the phone call guessed. The goal of every Captiva visit is a finished job, and our completion rate at the far docks is the statistic we quietly take the most pride in.

Where We Work on the Island

The Roosevelt Channel docks with their protected deep water, the bayside homes looking across the Sound, the lifts and slips of the village and the resort waterfront: Captiva's fleet is small, distinctive and consistently interesting, from flats skiffs rigged for the Sound's redfish to the cruisers and dayboats of the island's waterfront homes. All of it serviced in place, with scheduling that respects the island's rhythm and the pass's moods.

The Absentee Island

More than anywhere on our map, Captiva boats belong to owners who are elsewhere: seasonal residents, vacation-home families, boats that host their people a few glorious weeks a year and wait beautifully the rest. Waiting is hard duty for a boat, and our Boat Watch service was practically designed for this island: scheduled inspections, monthly engine run-ups, photo reports to wherever you are and storm-season response when the Gulf sends weather to the outermost docks first. Pair it with layup at departure and a shakedown timed to arrival, and the boat's whole year runs itself.

Put the Far Dock On Our Route

Every Service We Offer, Carried to Captiva

Nothing on the list stops at Blind Pass. All eighteen services, at the outer island's docks:

Inboard Boat Engine Services

The island's cruisers get engine room service at their own docks: cooling, fuel and mechanical work for gas and diesel inboards, with the Sound as the view from the job.

Outboard Boat Engine Services

Captiva's Yamaha, Suzuki and Mercury fleet serviced on factory intervals at the dock, hundred-hour work completed the same visit it starts.

Marine Engine Diagnostics

Factory scan computers ride every Captiva run: fault codes and engine history read at the far dock, because a warning light out here deserves an answer, not an expedition.

Marine Gear Case

Blind Pass and the Sound's bars keep lower units honest: pressure tested, resealed and rebuilt on-island, sand wear caught before it graduates to bearings.

Trolling Motor Installation & Repair

Quiet power for the Sound's flats: bow motors installed, wired to spec and repaired at the dock, holding verified in the current they will actually fish.

Fiberglass Repair

Pass souvenirs and dock rash erased at the outer island: laminate rebuilt to sound material and gelcoat blended under Captiva's own light.

Boat Detailing

Gelcoat on the Gulf's front row needs its armor maintained: wash, machine wax and oxidation recovery at the dock, inspection included as always.

Boat Accessories & Upgrades

Upgrade projects planned by phone, quoted in writing and executed in complete visits: electronics, lighting and systems installed with everything carried out.

Upholstery & Canvas Repair

Fabric measured and refitted on the boat it belongs to: seats rebuilt and canvas restitched with materials chosen for the island's relentless sun.

Trailer Repair

For the island's trailer-kept boats: bearings, brakes and lights serviced at the house, because outer-island trailers rust fastest and get serviced least.

Boat Winterization

Departure layups for the island that empties: fuel stabilized, batteries managed and every system protected before the quiet season begins.

Boat Summerization

Arrival shakedowns timed to the flight: systems proven, engine run supervised and the boat waiting ready instead of waiting hopeful.

Bait Well Repair

The Sound's redfish run on live bait: pumps, plumbing and aeration serviced at the dock, flow tuned before the family's fishing week begins.

Bilge Pump Service

The outermost docks meet the weather first: pumps and float switches tested end to end, high-water alarms installed for boats that wait alone.

Full Boat Rewiring

Salt air at full Gulf strength is patient: corroded harnesses rebuilt with tinned wire, sealed connections and circuits that outlast the exposure.

Injector Cleaning

The waiting island's quietest problem: fuel systems gummed by months of sitting, cleaned and flow-verified in one visit, smooth running restored.

Impeller & Cooling System Service

Warm Sound water and long idle spells write the schedule: impellers replaced on time, passages flushed and telltale flow proven before we leave.

Boat Watch Services

The island's signature need, served in depth above: scheduled eyes, monthly run-ups and photo reports for the boats that wait beautifully.

Trusted at the End of the Road

Captiva reviews begin where the road ends: nobody else would come this far, and the ones who did wanted a fortune or a favor. Ours read differently: scheduled, arrived, finished, photographed. At the far docks, showing up complete is the whole reputation, and it is ours.

These guys did a great job we were stranded with both motors not working on a week long vacation. They showed up diagnosed the issues within a couple minutes and got parts ordered and installed in no time. The motor run better than they ever have. I cannot express how impressed I was by their work and price. Strongly recommend.

Had a warning light come on for low oil pressure. Cody was out quickly and was able to fix the issue in minutes. Also had him return to do a full engine service. He found some issues I didn’t know about and I am now back on the water. 2019 Pathfinder 2500 with Yamaha 300

Cody and his team performed flawlessly. Came right to my house, knocked everything out way quicker than I would have ever expected, all while explaining the process to me. Pricing was extremely fair and my boat is running perfectly.

One of my Tohatsu 150’s shut down after overheating. Cody and Caleb came out on their repair boat and serviced both lower units while the boat was on my lift. Cody also identified the shift and throttle cables were in really bad shape and came back to replace them. He probably saved us a tow back in or worse. Island Marine has the unique ability to arrive by service truck or boat and they know what they are doing. On a side note both Cody and Caleb introduced themselves and shook my hand when we first met.

Nearby Areas We Also Serve

The route runs back down the road and across the map: Sanibel, Pine Island, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and everywhere between.

The Full Map From the Outer Island

Sanibel

The sister island one bridge back: the same on-island standard across the causeway's first crossing, flats expertise and seasonal cycles included.

Pine Island

Across the Sound to the working island: Matlacha's guide fleet and the village docks, served with the island-first philosophy Captiva knows best.

Cape Coral

The canal capital across the bay: four hundred miles of lift-kept boats on daily rhythm, the busy heart of the same map.

North Fort Myers

The river's north bank on the weekly routes: Marinatown slips, canal lifts and the corridor's trailer fleet.

Punta Gorda

North to Charlotte Harbor's cruising capital: trawlers, sailors and the tarpon fleet served slip-side in every season.

Englewood

The map's northern flag on Lemon Bay: standing routes and honest scheduling with no distance surcharge.

Estero

The southern loop's shallow-bay chapter: Estero River communities served behind their gates with skinny-water fluency.

Bonita Springs

Imperial River docks and beach-side canals: the seasonal ownership cycle managed end to end.

Naples

The southern anchor: offshore fleets and diesel cruisers served with documentation to match the town.

Captiva Boat Repair Questions

Honestly and for jobs of every size, on a standing route. The far docks are not a favor territory for us; they are the clearest proof of the mobile model working. Small services, single repairs and full projects all get the same planned-and-packed treatment, and no distance premium appears anywhere on the quote.
The far dock rule exists to make that rare: every Captiva visit starts with a phone consultation and a truck packed for the diagnosis plus its likely neighbors. When a genuinely unpredictable part is needed, you get the straight timeline immediately and the completion visit scheduled on the spot, treated as our miss to make right, not your inconvenience to absorb.
A rhythm more than a rescue: Boat Watch visits on schedule with monthly engine run-ups, because sitting is genuinely harder on boats than running, plus fuel stabilization, battery management and storm-season checks. Set that rhythm once and your weeks on the island start with a boat that performs like it never noticed your absence.
Seamlessly, and on Captiva we often do. Standing instructions, gate and dock access, findings reported to you with photos and logistics handled with whoever manages the property: the service adapts to how outer-island ownership actually works. You stay informed from anywhere; the boat stays served.
The outer island holds a place on our standing routes, so most visits schedule within days, and genuine breakdowns get priority handling. Call (239) 839-6908 with the symptom and the dock's location, and you will get an honest arrival window on the call, planned like every Captiva run: once, completely.
